Ready to dip your toes into garment sewing? This beginner-friendly class is the perfect place to start! Youll learn how to sew a simple and stylish skirt, no pattern required. Just a little math and some fabric magic!
Your finished skirt will feature an elastic waist back (for max comfort), flat front (for max style), side slit (for max ventilation), and yes, it has pockets! Its comfy, customizable, and just in time for that fleeting Seattle summer.
Whether this is your first garment or you’re brushing up on basics, youll leave class with a wearable piece and the confidence to keep sewing.
Class Duration: 4 hours
Students Bring: Fabric and coordinating thread for your skirt. 1.5″ wide waistband elastic

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner Garment Sewist
Skill Details:Students should have some sewing experience and have completed 5 or so independent sewing projects. Students should be able to maintain a consistent seam allowance, understand the right side vs wrong side of fabric, and overall feel comfortable operating a sewing machine. It’s okay if this is your first garment!
Vibe: Hands-On FocusThe project isnt overly difficult, but it does demand concentration. Youll need to stay focused, but theres still time for light socializing between steps.
