Size US H-8/5mm crochet hook (used only for the provisional cast-on). A few yards of waste yarn.

GAUGE The 29-st Center Panel measures 6″/17cm across, and 29 rows 4″/10cm, blocked.
Achieving exact gauge is not critical to the success of this project.
